This specification covers a procedure, typically referred to as Blue Etch Anodize, for revealing the macrostructure and microstructure of selected titanium alloys.
AMS B Finishes Processes and Fluids Committee
This specification covers a premium aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, and forging stock.
AMS E Carbon and Low Alloy Steels Committee
Supplementary to the heat or cast analysis, a product analysis may be made on steel in the semifinished or finished form. For definitions and methods of sampling steel for product chemical analysis, refer to SAE J408. A product analysis is a chemical analysis of the semifinished or finished steel to determine conformance to the specification requirements. The range of the specified chemical composition is normally expanded to take into account deviations associated with analytical reproducibility and the heterogeneity of the steel. Individual determinations may vary from the specified heat or cast analysis ranges or limits to the extent shown in Tables 1 through 5. The several determinations of any element in a heat or cast may not vary both above and below the specified range except for lead. Tables 1 through 5 provide permissible limits for various steel forms and composition types. For rephosphorized and resulfurized steels, the product analysis tolerance limits are not applicable
Metals Technical Committee
This specification covers one type of aluminum bronze in the form of bars, rods, forgings, and forging stock.
AMS D Nonferrous Alloys Committee
This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of die forgings up to 4 inches (102 mm), hand forgings up to 8 inches (203 mm), rolled or forged rings up to 2.5 inches (63.5 mm) in thickness, and forging stock (see 8.6).
AMS D Nonferrous Alloys Committee
This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of honeycomb core in a non-hexagonal, flexible cell configuration, the core being treated for increased corrosion resistance and furnished only in the expanded form.
AMS D Nonferrous Alloys Committee
This specification covers an iron-nickel alloy in the form of strip.
AMS F Corrosion Heat Resistant Alloys Committee
This specification covers the requirements for removers used on amine-cured epoxy coating systems (see 6.1).
AMS J Aircraft Maintenance Chemicals and Materials Committee
This specification covers a silicone (VMQ) elastomer that can be used to manufacture product in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes. For molded rings, compression seals, O-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets for aeronautical and aerospace applications, use the AMS7XXX specification.
AMS CE Elastomers Committee
This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of sheet, strip, and plate.
AMS F Corrosion Heat Resistant Alloys Committee
This specification covers the requirements for electrodeposited low-stressed nickel.
AMS B Finishes Processes and Fluids Committee
Primarily to provide recommendations concerning minimizing stress-corrosion cracking in wrought titanium alloy products.
AMS G Titanium and Refractory Metals Committee
This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of hand forgings up to 6 inches (152 mm) inclusive, in nominal as-forged thickness and having a cross-sectional area of not more than 156 square inches (1006 cm2) (see 8.6).
