Transport Push-Pull Mobility Between Urban Districts: A Distance-Weighted Approach Based on Public Bicycle Flows2025-01-721802/21/2025
With the rapid development of urban transportation systems and the increasing complexity of travel patterns, transport push-pull mobility analysis helps us understand the fundamental question of "why certain areas generate or attract traffic flows," thereby guiding urban transport planning decisions. However, existing studies have not explored the strength and spatial heterogeneity patterns of transport mobility forces in different urban areas from a traffic flow perspective. To address this gap, this paper proposes measurement methods for absolute and relative transport mobility through the lens of push-pull forces. These methods can evaluate the traffic generation and attraction forces of each location based on travel flow data between places. GPS-BASED MOBILITY POWER ANALYSIS OF MILITARY VEHICLES2024-01-331111/15/2024
ABSTRACT Determining the required power for the tractive elements of off-road vehicles has always been a critical aspect of the design process for military vehicles. In recent years, military vehicles have been equipped with hybrid, diesel-electric drives to improve stealth capabilities. The electric motors that power the wheel or tracks require an accurate estimation of the power and duty cycle for a vehicle during certain operating conditions. To meet this demand, a GPS-based mobility power model was developed to predict the duty cycle and energy requirements of off-road vehicles. The dynamic vehicle parameters needed to estimate the forces developed during locomotion are determined from the GPS data, and these forces include the following: the gravitational, acceleration, motion resistance, aerodynamic drag, and drawbar forces. Diesel operated Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) account for nearly 70% of all road transportation in India which is expected to quadruple, from 4 million in 2022 to roughly 17 million trucks by 2050. Despite comprising a mere 5% of total vehicle fleet, they consume nearly 57% of fossil fuel used by the transport sector and responsible for 71% ,74% and 55% of CO2 ,PM and NOx emissions respectively. This necessities the transition of M&HCV into green mobility solution. Furthermore, smaller vehicles like 2W, 3W, 4 wheeler like cars and buses are adopting EV technology at a faster pace coupled with incentivization through government policies like FAME-I, FAME-II etc., advocates an immediate intervention on electrification of M&HCVs to multifold the impact. Feasibility Analysis of Biogas-Based Charging Station using MATLAB Simulation2022-28-041211/09/2022
Electric vehicles' rapid adoption demands a vast quantity of energy. Alternative energy sources are being highlighted as a result of the finite supply of order of fossil resources to create the long-term power supply industry with eco-friendly products. It has immense prospects for energy sources such as biogas and biomass. A 20 kW biogas-powered electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) with a maximum energy requirement of 100 kWh is shown in this study. This work uses the MATLAB Simulink to design a biogas-based EVCS. On a daily basis, the suggested charging point can recharge 15-20 electric vehicles. The proposed approach is more energy-efficient than grid electricity. Furthermore, when compared to charging stations with power systems, The planned charging station produces 58.75% less CO2. Furthermore, for simple electric bicycles and rickshaws, the suggested EVCS will save $ 16.25 and $ 27.50 each month, respectively. The study includes the effects of solar irradiation, biomass, and

Comparing eVTOL Aircraft Configurations for Varying Payloads and Range2022-26-115105/26/2022
The question of finding an optimal electric Vertical Take off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft configuration for different payloads and ranges is non-trivial from an academic and industry perspective for the emerging Urban Air Mobility (UAM) market. In this paper, different eVTOL configurations (Lift+cruise, tilt-rotor, tilt-wing) are sized for varying payloads (300-700kg) and ranges (50-150km). The different concepts are then compared through parameters such as energy consumption, noise, cost of the aircraft and cost per seat-km, in the context of Indian market. Although some studies have compared different configurations, the sizing of the aircraft is typically not performed rigorously. That's about 25% more emissions than long-haul flights, because short-hop flying uses proportionately more fuel at takeoff and landing. Could an automotive alternative offer a solution? Even in a single location, a variety of suppliers, each with a different design, may be available for use. When new, the safety performance of the devices should be consistent for a given make, however, over time, braking performance may diminish.
