- Final rule of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration amends regulations under 49 CFR 105, 171, 172, 173, 177, 178, and 180 regarding the transportation of hazardous materials. The rule updates various entries in the Hazardous Materials Table and corresponding special provisions, clarifies the lab pack requirements for temperature-controlled materials, and clarifies exceptions for non-spillable batteries secured to skids or pallets. The rule also requires hazardous material transportation employers to make employee training records available upon request to an authorized official of the DOT or an authority explicitly granted authority to enforce the hazardous materials regulations.
