Scope

Content: This specification covers the engineering requirements for automatic peening of surfaces of parts by impingement of metallic shot, glass beads, or ceramic shot. To induce residual compressive stress in surface layers of parts, thereby increasing fatigue strength and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking but usage is not limited to such applications.
