This paper aims to show the main technological advances and actual tendencies of Instrument Clusters for automotive business.
At first, it will be showed a general overview of the main existing technologies for digital and analogues gauges, illumination and electronic concepts, showing the variety of these solutions.
Afterwards it will be analyzed the application possibilities of each solution considering its technical, financial and ergonomic aspects, showing the tendencies for each market.
At the same time we will bring for a discussion the integration possibilities of functions, nowadays available in separate modules inside the vehicle electrical architecture, into the instrument cluster.
