Over the past several decades, the number of electric vehicles (EVs) has continued to increase which estimates that millions of EVs will be on the road in the upcoming years. The heart of these EVs is the Li-ion battery which provides the required energy storage. Batteries have been widely applied in many high-power applications like electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), where a suitable battery management system (BMS) plays an important role in ensuring safe and reliable operation of batteries. This paper aims to give a brief explanation on several key technologies which include Structural Battery, Battery Testing Equipment, Silicone-Based Thermal Interface Materials for Electric Vehicles, New Solid Electrolytes in EV Batteries, Cobalt Free Batteries. It also gives some information about a Battery Recycling Facility, which has come with a simple solution – Recycle the batteries. With the great knowledge of these battery technologies, the different automotive companies can hold talks with different governments and start-ups, invest in these technologies and also think about their advantages and disadvantages and their future scope before implementing the technologies in electric vehicles (EVs) so that they can have an idea which technology is suitable and also the best method to recycle these batteries which they have to keep in mind without affecting the environment. This paper presents different battery technologies and describes each technology, as well as approaches to improve the overall battery efficiency, capacity, and lifespan. Material and thermal characteristics are the most important characteristics for battery performance.
