Content
Medium or higher commercial vehicles weight will be increased by 5 to 6 times compared to kerb weight depending on their load carrying capacity. Therefore, a pneumatic braking device is used that produces a greater braking force than hydraulic pressure. Pneumatic braking system is a device that performs mechanical braking using air pressure and shall be designed to an appropriate level, taking into account the multi-physics of air and mechanical phenomena. In addition, the dynamics of the vehicle during braking should be considered due to different vehicle behavior depending on the load carrying capacity. This study utilizes SIL(Software In the Loop) for a comprehensive review of the pneumatic braking performance of vehicles.
