Authors Abstract
Content
The use of Hall Effect sensing and crossport valving in gerotor motors has opened the possibilities for electronic feedback control in hydraulic applications. By utilizing a “zero-speed” Hall Effect speed sensor and a motorized bypass control valve, the flow into the motor can be adjusted to obtain a desired speed or rate. Incorporation of PLC (programmable logic control) hardware will enable applications to respond to variations in load. The advantages of the speed sensor and control valve contained in the motor along with a small, light weight PLC, lends itself to a viable option in many control applications.
