- On a busy airport an aircraft takes off or lands every few minutes. Knowing accurate time of arrival of an aircraft could be helpful in airport operations and resource management. Ground based services such as ground vehicle, trolley, aerobridge etc can be operated in a more optimized manner. To accurately model the aircraft time of arrival we propose to use ADS-B data. It is mandatory to equip an aircraft with ADSB-out in USA and it will followed across the globe very soon. This data can be harnessed to accurately model time of arrival of an aircraft. In our work, we have used one year of ADS-B data and created a model using regression to predict the time of arrival. The results show high prediction accuracy. A mean square error comparison is also shown with multiple methods and optimizations. The proposed model can be utilized by airline ground operations and air traffic control centers.
