Authors Abstract
Content
PARIS : the key to a most efficient distribution in Europe and Africa?
In order to demonstrate the advantages Paris has to offer, the author reviews the importance of economic factors which influence the development of trade and highlights the importance and the contribution of the Asia/Pacific region in world commerce. This is followed by an analysis of the contribution of air transport to this development and more specifically for a range of new products or high technology for which the location of a distribution center on an airport site is justified. This necessity has been integrated in the conception of the freight zones of major European airports for many years, as is the case for Paris, which has played an innovatory role, or more recently for others. The specific assets of Paris are then emphasized and a wide range of adapted solutions to answer the problems of international distribution for Asian companies are proposed.
