- Abstract The main aim of operating the navigation database server from ground station is to operate a single navigation database server across all aircrafts and navigation database updates can be performed at one place. which will be effective and quick, thus no need to update the navigation database in each flight for every 28 days. Existing System: Currently Collins FMS NDB architecture mainly contains three components, namely Navigation database server, Navigation database client (API) and Navigation database. FMS is responsible for creating Navigation database server, client connections, checking the database paths to ensure they are usable, handling errors and exceptions. Navigation Database contains a set of files and each file contains a set of records related to Airports runways and airways etc., Navigation database client is responsible for creating query messages based on user input and initiating search requests to the navigation database server and also it provides the ability to extract individual items from the search results and to extract the individual fields from an item. Navigation database server is responsible for processing the client request, which means decoding the query message request and providing search results. Navigation database server performs NDB file handling and status. Both navigation database server and client take care of error and exception handling on each stage. Proposed System: In the proposed system all NDB files moved to any relational Databases (like sql or postgersql) and NDB Server operates from ground station as a cloud/web application which will respond or perform search operation based on client request. FMS needs to be enhanced to handle the NDB client as a web server client and using Rest API’s NDB client will send the request to get navigation data.
