Information Formating: A Search and Transfer Problem

This paper discusses the compatibility potential of information formating, recognizing that automation and new technology have expanded the information generating capabilities of newly developed aircraft flight decks. With the new and expanded automated information concepts available to keep the human operator informed, the paper will examine the need to implement a prioritization system of information flow patterns. It also addresses the area of information location, symbology, and how information flow affects compatability.
