Abstract
Content
The paper evaluates the influence of the chemical composition (aromatics, olefins, paraffins and oxygenates content) of motor gasoline on inlet valve and combustion chamber deposits, determined using the modified CEC F-04-A-87 engine bench test. The impact of detergent additive levels on these deposits has also been studied. The influence of these factors was evaluated by developing mathematical equations. The obtained results indicate that it is possible to calculate and/or predict the deposit formation on intake valves and/or in combustion chamber on the basis of motor gasoline compositional data.
