This paper presents, an analysis of different kind of technical issues encountered while charging electric vehicle using plug-in charger. The electric vehicles is charged periodically, based on charging system configuration and requirements set by the vehicle. However, in certain instances, vehicle charging was interrupted and does not charge the battery completely. Therefore, condition of the itineraries get affected due to interruption of charging. To deal with such situation it is required to upgrade the charging process. Using logged vehicle measurement data, we analyzed the problem and updated the software and hardware in vehicle. The root cause of analysis showed how charging is interrupted and vehicle remains idle while coupler is still engaged. In this method, we identified different reasons of interruptions - mistaken communication while charging, power supply(Charger) failure, short protection, component leakage, charging facilities. This analysis were very useful in deriving the decision for upgradation of charging system in electric vehicle.
