Authors Abstract
Content
The purpose of this paper is to review some Research & Developments in diesel engineering that provide pointers to resolving the potential conflict of noise reduction with fuel economy and it's attendant demand for weight reduction. Economy is not the only fuel-related problem that conflicts with noise; future diesel fuels will differ from those to which we have become accustomed, a trend which is already taking place in many parts of the world.
