Palisade fencing can be effectively used for security purposes. For high-security establishments, palisade fences are being used as effective security barriers which can withstand high-speed vehicle impact and maintain a stand-off distance between the vehicle and the environment to be protected. The test setup being costly, the simulation-based approach will help in identifying the performance at the design stage itself. This paper discusses the explicit dynamic finite element analysis of the high-speed truck impact on the palisade fence as per ASTM F2656 standard using RADIOSS solver. Detailed finite element modeling of the fence for simulation is explained using various material models, load, and boundary conditions. Analysis output includes a variation of several parameters with time and some of such parameters include truck velocity, displacement and stress levels during the impact, energy absorption, etc.
