Authors Abstract
Content
The ability of a commercial truck operator to achieve a satisfactorily low cost per tire mile can depend in large part on the effectiveness of his retread program. An understanding of the factors affecting retreadability is a prerequisite to the establishment of such a program.
A truck tire carcass has a certain amount of service built into it. The number of retreads that are both possible and practical depends in large part on the type and length of service during the original tread life, as well as the type of tire. A good record system is essential.
