Authors Abstract
Content
In passenger vehicle, Passenger comfort is a prime importance nowadays, in which thermal comfort plays an important role. Moreover, thermal sensation is most significant component in thermal comfort. It can be affected by several parameters such as environmental conditions, HVAC component level performance, Cabin materials, vehicle layout etc. Therefore, to ensure optimal thermal comfort, It becomes a key challenge during the design & development. So far the cabin thermal comfort is predicted by traditional ways i.e. Prototypes & Physical test which consumes cost & longer evaluation time. This study shows the Co-simulation (1D+3D CFD coupling) approach used to predict the cabin thermal comfort. Co-simulation approach comprises the method of coupling the "1D system level simulation with 3D CFD simulation.
