- With over 70% of content provided by partners to the prime aircraft OEM manufacturer, in order to be efficient and competitive it is critical that all stakeholders in the process can communicate seamlessly and with the same data. This video illustrates how the Dassault Systmes PLM Hub 2.0 connects all contributors involved in product development via a remote, online environment, allowing them to share secure data and applications. In this hub architecture, each party is interconnected with the others, forming a harmonized, more competitive whole. Advantages of the system include the ability to spread common development methods throughout the extended enterprise, provide up-to-date context data for everyone in the design chain, and conduct short-loop multi-disciplinary impact studies. The example used to illustrate the effectiveness of this approach revolves around the design of a new airlines seat that needed to be reconfigured to provide easier access of the seatback tray and monitor to passengers.
