India has huge an opportunity to set an example for its commitment towards global GHG emissions reduction by 30-35% and reduction in dependency on imported fossil fuel. This can be achieved by the adoption of sustainable solutions and focus on transportation sector (air, water, and surface), which currently enables mobility across the country by using fossil fuels in internal combustion engines (ICE), albeit with the high cost of GHG emissions. The need of the hour, therefore, is the utilization of indigenous alternative sources of energy & fuels that can only curtail FOREX outflow but also mitigate risk of climate change. Biofuels, as a renewable transportation fuels (gases/liquids) is the best alternate source that complements fossil fuels. Biofuels are environmental friendly; enhances rural economy, and offer energy self-reliance within existing infrastructure of ICE mobility. Praj offers Bio-MobilityTMplatform solution, which envision the use of renewable bio-based feedstock for the production of carbon neutral transportation fuels for all modes of mobility. This unique platform integrates all the positive aspects of existing ICE technology as well as e-mobility, in addition to addressing all the challenges of fossil fuel combustion in ICE and e-mobility. Bio-MobilityTM platform has in-build enablers like bio-ethanol, renewable diesel, compressed bio-gas (CBG), marine bio-fuels and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), that are complementary to fossil fuels and leverage existing infrastructure. The adoption of Bio-MobilityTM platform which this paper deals with, for future transport can create winners in the areas related to farm, rural youth, city residents, industry, government and above all future generations by way of doubling the farmer's income, job protection and creation, GHG emission reduction. Bio-MobilityTM based on indigenous source of energy will all facilitate to achieve energy security and FOREX saving helping India to meet goals of AtmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
