A hit in Europe but almost invisible in the U.S., Sungate IR-reflective technology gets an upgrade

For something that is pretty much invisible, glass sure has a lot of stuff in it.

But not enough, in the minds of scientists and engineers at PPG Industries, who are determined to incorporate more and more ingredients into the optically mysterious material. Their aim, of course, is to coax glass into greater functionality without notice to the naked eye. And they are doing it in another almost-invisible way: nanotechnology.
