GM cashes in on the Solstice concept buzz by rushing its roadster to production.
To capitalize on its winning introduction at the 2002 North American International Auto Show, Pontiac tasked its engineers to take the Solstice from eye-catching show car to production reality in a timeframe unlike any other for a General Motors product.
“There's a cool show car. Do it fast, do it cheap. Put the blinders on; go for it,” summarized Solstice Assistant Chief Engineer Bruce Kosbab.
