As aircraft companies battle for market share, uniting design and manufacturing teams remains a key challenge.

The value of communication and teamwork was understood by ancient Greeks and Romans, but getting teams to work well together remains a hard-to-achieve goal even today.

That communicating early in the process prevents errors when they are less expensive may seem almost ancient as Greek wisdom, but that does not mean it is easy to do. Instant communications around the globe offers the potential for great success, but the flip side remains just as ominous as when papyrus was the communications media of the day.
